Positive outcome from Chambers UK research

Collas Day has maintained its position within one of the UK's leading directories for the legal profession.

The Chambers UK 2010 directory officially launched yesterday, and saw a number of Collas Day's lawyers ranked as leaders in their field. Ian Kirk, Head of the Commercial team, has been ranked as a 'band 1' leading professional in the corporate and finance sector with one client quoted as saying that he is "one of the brightest people I've ever met and he always gets straight to the point".

Sean Cheong and Christian Hay were ranked in their respective fields of Corporate and Finance and Dispute Resolution, and Paul Wilkes and Gareth Bell have been noted as 'associates to watch'. Clients were impressed with Gareth's "no nonsense approach" and with how Paul "embraces new innovations and works to find a solution".

The firm's dispute resolution team appears in the rankings for the first time, a reflection of the calibre of work and the consistent results the department has delivered in relation to some high profile, complex cases. The directory also recognises the growing British and International interest in Collas Day, and its efforts to develop a client base in Europe, Asia and the Middle East.

Partner Ian Kirk said, "Directories such as Chambers are highly regarded in the profession as they do place a strong emphasis on the opinions of clients and peers in order to decide the rankings. We're pleased to be visible in our categories of expertise because that reflects what clients say, and their experience of the firm as a whole".
