One of the best in our field.

Law firm Collas Day was one of six shortlisted firms for the award for 'Most Enterprising Law Firm' at the Legal Business Awards in London.

The national awards, held at the Grosvenor House Hotel and hosted by comedian Omid Djalili, are dubbed 'The Oscars of the legal profession'  and are celebrating their 20th year of recognising and rewarding excellence in legal services. The awards ceremony was attended by over 800 industry leaders.

Collas Day was shortlisted for the most enterprising law firm award for the introduction of Collas Day IP Ltd, the innovative, one-stop solution for Intellectual Property services in Guernsey launched in June 2009. This is the first time the firm has entered the awards and on the night, Collas Day was the only Channel Island firm to be shortlisted in any category. Other firms shortlisted for the enterprise award included city firms Nabarro, CMS Cameron McKenna, Latham Watkins and Simmons & Simmons. The winner on the night was Norton Rose for its programme of flexible working solutions introduced in the wake of the recession.

Jason Romer, Partner and Collas Day's IP expert said, "For our achievement to be recognised in the industry is an honour in itself. We were competing with some of London's top firms so just to have our name along side theirs was fantastic.

"Being shortlisted for an award for enterprise reflects the firm's commitment to delivering innovative solutions for our clients; we pride ourselves on having the flexibilty to achieve this, and we intend to build on this success and continue the trend throughout the coming year," he added.
