New Finance Director takes up his post…

Collas Day's management team welcomed a new face with the arrival in June of Russ Newton, the firm's new Finance Director. Russ joins the firm from KPMG Channel Islands, where he worked for the last 6 years.

Russ sees his principal role as taking as much of the burden of financial management away from partners as possible, keeping them fully informed but freeing them to concentrate on client relationships and client service.

"I was attracted by the ambition that was evident when I met the team here. There is a real sense that the firm is 'going places' and that means I won't have to go looking for new challenges and new dimensions to the job as time goes on - they will find me!"

Chris Bound commented "We're very pleased to welcome Russ. His appointment continues the partnership's policy of appointing high quality managers to advise and support us. We will be announcing further strengthening of the management team in the very near future."

Before qualifying as an accountant, Russ worked for ten years in the hospitality sector in the East Midlands and London, in financial control. His motive for coming to Guernsey was "to get away from London and the commuting" and he takes full advantage of the island's family-friendly environment, devoting his spare time to home.
