Role and Responsibilities
Responsible for strategic direction and control of the firm and its operations, and leadership of the management team.

Expertise
30 years of team leadership, people management, organisation and motivation. 3 years Chairman of the Guernsey Branch of the Chartered Institute of Personnel & Development, of which Mike is a Chartered Fellow.

Career
18 years as a Royal Navy officer and Commando pilot, including service in the Falklands campaign and the first Gulf War.  (1975-1993)
12 years HR management with the Barings Financial Services Group, culminating in 6 years as Group head of HR. (1993-2005)
3 years management consultancy work (2005-2008)
Joined Collas Day as Chief Operating Officer (September 2008)

Outside Work
Mike retains a keen interest in aviation and flies as a volunteer pilot for Channel Islands Air Search.  He also acts as Treasurer for the local Joint Services Charity. He is at his happiest slaving over a hot BBQ and sampling the odd drop of good wine with his wife Barbara.
